What does it mean to live a life “without limits”? It means to live a life that is in alignment with your own personal beliefs, values and core-principles which enables you to create a powerful force in the world for helping others discover similar meaning for themselves. It’s a life lived in a virtuous cycle of empowerment and growth. A life of inner expansiveness and outer radiance.
I have made it my personal mission to help you begin to define that for yourself by sharing my own story and the the stories of others in an effort to illuminate a path to personal growth and development that is accessible and durable.
That doesn’t mean it’s easy.
There are several points in our lives where we have an opportunity to make important choices resulting in outcomes that will dramatically shape what kind of results we get. These points could come in the form of life milestones like graduation or marriage. They could come in the form of seasonal changes; like between the season of parenting and of an empty nest. They could come in the form of substantial career transitions or the loss of a career altogether. Divorce. Death. Bankruptcy. Winning the lottery. Having a child. The list is long and it’s most certainly unique to each and every one of us as individuals.
Good and bad, these are often experienced as crises of identity.
How effectively we perform in these moments of crisis and choice is often determined by our spiritual, mental and physical well-being. How well we are or are not prepared in these areas depends largely on our sense of personal empowerment and agency in our lives. If we’re well prepared and conditioned, we fare well. If we’re not, well, the opposite is often true.
My experience in my own life, as well as my observations of the lives of others (family, friends, lovers, co-workers, casual acquaintances and more) has led me to hypothesize that we could all use substantial support in the area of cultivating an enduring sense of personal power and agency.
The challenge for many of us is identifying a path that serves us best. One that resonates with us deeply on an individual level and truly meets us where we are in our lives right now.
The “self-help” industry is vast and staggeringly lucrative. From the biggest names we all recognize to the recently graduated psychology majors looking to become life coaches, from the preachers in the pulpit to the endless sea of social media influencers, from the gurus in the meditation centers to the shamen in the jungles of Central and South America, there is literally no end to the options we have to make ourselves “better”.
That can prove to be a disorienting and overwhelming experience. When you’re really suffering, the steeper the on-ramp, the more likely you are to bail out at the first sign of difficulty and struggle.
The overarching aim of this program I have dubbed This Life Without Limits is to illuminate some effective and accessible options for stepping onto the path – your path. To show you methods I actively use to transform my own life in hopes that you may begin to transform your own.
I intend to keep things simple. But not easy. That is the way. Practical. Accessible. No bullshit. Gain a toehold then equilibrium then change. Meaningful, durable change.
I’m beginning with this website and my podcast. To teach and to learn. To listen more than I speak. To distill. To inspire. To empower. To excite and to incite. There is more on the way as I gain my own footing and stability in this new way. If you’re inclined to join me on this journey, I’d be honored to walk by your side.
