In a world that pulls us outward, Coming Home is a daily meditation to reconnect with yourself — a 4-week journey designed to slow you down, bring you back to center, and help you remember who you are.
Making Presence Personal
After more than 20 years of practicing meditation, I’ve come to realize that every time I arrive on the cushion, or the chair, or the ground beneath me — it’s essentially the first time.
For a long stretch, I took pride in building streaks. I gamified my practice. Thirty days. Sixty. Ninety. One hundred and twenty. I’d think, “Look how good I’m getting at this. Look at the streak I’ve built. Check out all these badges I’m earning in the app.” And while that kind of consistency had real benefits, it also fed something else: my ego.

Yes, I was proud of showing up. But I sometimes wonder: how deeply was the practice actually penetrating my heart?
Because even with all those streaks, I was still struggling — with addiction, with clarity, with focus and follow-through. Something was missing.
What I’ve come to understand is this: while the road to self-mastery and self-leadership does require steady effort and commitment, that path must be rooted in something deeper — a foundation of self-love and self-respect. And those aren’t things we can chase or force. They grow only in the soil of presence.
Presence with the truth of who we are. With our sensations. Our emotions. With the parts of ourselves we’ve ignored or judged or bypassed.
That’s why I’ve poured so much time and care into building this course — and the two that will follow it. My hope is that you won’t treat this course as just another checkbox or productivity hack. I hope it feels like a soft place to land.
Because each day, we are born anew into this world.
And each session is an opportunity to begin again.
To come home to yourself — again and again.

The Cost of Disconnection
Disconnection doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s subtle — a low-grade anxiety, difficulty focusing, snapping at the people we love. Other times, it’s more acute: burnout, decision fatigue, emotional shutdown.
We may notice that we’ve been living from the neck up — managing tasks, analyzing situations, pushing through discomfort — while our bodies, hearts, and deeper wisdom go quiet in the background.
This isn’t a personal failure. It’s a nervous system adaptation. And for many of us, it’s been a survival strategy for years.
But there comes a point when survival isn’t enough. When we’re ready not just to cope, but to reclaim and flourish!
That’s where the journey home begins.
Why Presence Changes Everything
Presence is not just about mindfulness. It’s about coming back into relationship with yourself — your body, your breath, your emotions, your inner truth.
When we’re present, we can hear what we actually feel. We can notice our needs. We can choose how we respond. From that place, change becomes possible — not because we forced it, but because we created space for it to emerge.
Each morning we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
Jack Kornfield
Presence isn’t passive. It’s powerful. It allows us to:
- Regulate our nervous systems
- Reconnect with our intuition
- Notice self-sabotaging patterns as they arise
- Build emotional resilience
- Lead and relate with greater clarity and integrity
Recent research — including work by J. David Creswell1 — shows that even short-term mindfulness training can significantly reduce stress reactivity and improve emotional regulation. This isn’t spiritual fluff — it’s evidence-backed, nervous-system-supporting medicine.
Presence is what transforms insight into integration. It’s the bridge between awareness and embodied change.
